Two interesting stories to note:

Illinois County-based CCW?

I guess some county's State's Attorneys won't prosecute FOID card holders from carrying concealed...
McLean County State’s Attorney Ron Dozier is set to announce publicly today, Monday, August 2o, to the media and residents of McLean County, Illinois, his decision not to prosecute Firearm Owner Identification Card holders who are arrested for merely possessing a concealed weapon in violation of Illinois’ prohibition on law-abiding residents carrying the means with which to protect themselves.In essence, with Dozier’s decision, gun owners may be able to use their FOID card as a de facto carry permit in that county.

Illinois SBR's?

Seems that the SBR-Civil War reenactor bill that allowed history buffs to possess short barreled muskets is worded to apply to rifles. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems as if you possess a C&R FFL, have a CLEO sign off on the ATF tax work (or use a Trust), then it may be permissible to have SBR's in Illinois. Read about it
